Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation (born October 1 1969): American comedian, musician, comedian, and writer. He was featured in a Comedy Central Presents special and presented his show Late World with Zach on VH1. Galifianakis is a regular in many films including The Hangover Trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010). The Campaign (2012), Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014) and Masterminds (2016). He also voiced characters in animated films such as Puss in Boots (2011), The Lego Batman Movie (2017), Missing Link (2019), and Ron's Gone Wrong (2021). Galifianakis currently hosts the Funny or Die website talk show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. Galifianakis appeared in the FX series Baskets. He was nominated in 2017 for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis, a North Carolina native, was born October 1 1969, in Wilkesboro. He is the son of Mary Frances (nee Cashion), and Harry Galifianakis, a heating oil seller. His mother is an English-Irish as well as Scottish His paternal grandparents are Greek immigrants from Crete. He was baptized according to his father's Greek Orthodox faith. He has a younger sister named Merritt, as well as an elder brother named Greg. The cousin Nick Galifianakis is a Washington Post cartoonist, and his uncle, Nick Galifianakis is also a politician. Galifianakis attended Wilkes Central High School, and later attended North Carolina State University, where he majored in communications. Galifianakis worked at a public radio station during his time at college. He taught the waltz class, in 1991 and he came into contact with Mary J. Blige. Galifianakis was on Saturday Night Live two weeks after he made his TV debut with Boston Common. Galifianakis said he was a part-time employee on Saturday Night Live for two weeks and Britney Spears was the host for one of those episodes.
