Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, an actor and musician, is famous for his tough-edged roles or humorous characters in action films. He has been featured in films that have earned in excess of $2.5 billion dollars. Walter Bruce Willis, a West German-born actor, was born in Idar–Oberstein West Germany on March 19 1955. He was the son of Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David Andrew Willis (from New Jersey), who lived on a military base in the United States. The family moved to the U.S. soon after he was born. Willis was raised in Penns Grove by his mother working at a bank, and his father, a welding, was a factory worker and welder. Willis began to show an interest in dramatic arts during his high school. He was "discovered" when he worked in an New York City cafe. In the following years, he appeared in numerous off-Broadway productions. He was bartending when a casting director saw his style and asked to cast him as a bartender in a small film. Willis was a candidate for a variety of film roles, but was not acknowledged. He eventually got the role of David Addison, a private eye, alongside Cybill Shepherd, in the romantic comedy series Moonlighting (1985). His sarcastic humor and wittiness as a P.I. is a highlight of his professional career. Some believe it's an opportunity to practice to practice for Willis his role in Die Hard (1988), in which he fought a gang international of thieves who were stealing from the Los Angeles skyscraper. The actor reprised his role as McClane in the sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990) that was set at snowbound Washington's Dulles International Airport as a group of renegade Special Forces soldiers seek to get back an infamous South American general. Strong box office results prompted another sequel, Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) and this time with co-star Samuel L. Jackson as an obnoxious Harlem shop owner who accidentally gets into helping McClane during a terrorist bombing campaign on a scorching day in New York.
