Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actor and model. Her birth date was 11th November 1966. Her debut film performance as an archaeologist Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989, her role as Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character from A View to a Kill (Bond film, 1985) and then went on to perform the role of Nazisympathizing Elsa Schneider. There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was a model when the opportunity was offered by a aspiring photographer. Her career has since evolved into commercial modelling. Doody did not like glamour or nude work, a rule that was carried into her acting. Once she caught the attention of the casting director for a James Bond movie, she participated in A View to a Kill in the role of Jenny Flex. Doody was named one of 12 Promising New Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody had just turned 18 years old when she took on the character of Bond girl. She is still the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying (1997) which starred Mickey Rourke, also featured a smaller role as IRA Siobhan. Doody was a silent actor in the 1987 version from The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream wife Lilias. The Storyteller episode from 1988 included her in the leading character in the film Sapsorrow and was portrayed by John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She also appeared as Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. The most memorable part to date was that of Austrian Nazi sympathiser as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody was in the film with Sean Connery, who played Indy's father. Doody has co-starred alongside Jonathan Pryce, in the British miniseries Selling Hitler. The series was in part inspired by the Hitler Diaries publishing scam. After moving to Hollywood Doody made her an international star. She was chosen to replace Cybill Shepard in the role of L'Oreal spokesperson and then went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his wife and agent as Flannery's girlfriend and agent in Major League II. Doody who was absent from the stage for nearly 10 years, returned in 2003 to play a small part of The Actors, a British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine was her character as a character at the ceremony for awards. in 2004, Doody was in the film with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody appeared on Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody played a small role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Doody was later a guest on RTE's medical drama The Clinic and was set to be the lead actress in a remake of the classic horror film The Asphyx but the project ended up being cancelled. The actress began her two seasons on the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. In November of 2018, she was honored by the Almeria Tierra de Cine award and was awarded the honor of a star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
